Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. You can set it up in two ways:

  1. When Prompted by Your Brokerage – If your brokerage requires 2FA, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
  2. Through Profile Settings – You can enable 2FA manually by navigating to your Profile Settings and following the setup steps.

Method 1: Prompt from Brokerage

What Will You See?

If your brokerage requires 2FA, you will see a message upon logging in stating:

"Your Brokerage requires Two-Factor Authentication to be set up."

Below this message, click the "Set Up 2FA" button to begin the setup process.

Steps to Enable

1) Click "Set Up 2FA": This takes you to the setup page.

2) Download Authenticator App: Download Google Authenticator or another authenticator app onto your mobile device.

3) Scan QR Code: Use the app to scan the displayed QR code.

4) Enter Verification Code: Input the 6-digit code generated by the app.

5) Click "Enable 2FA": Complete the setup.

Method 2: Through Profile Settings

1) Open My Profile: At the top right of the page, select your name → My Profile.

2) Click the "Security" Tab:

Follow steps 2-5 from the first method to complete the setup.

After Setup

Once 2FA is enabled, you will be required to enter a verification code from your authenticator app each time you log in.

You will also have the option to remember your device for 2 weeks, reducing the need to enter a code on trusted devices.

Why Use 2FA?

  • Improved Security – Adds an extra layer of protection to safeguard your account.
  • Compliance – May be required by your brokerage or regulatory bodies to meet security standards.
