What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your TotalBrokerage account. In addition to entering a password, users will need to enter a verification code sent to their mobile device. This makes it harder for unauthorized people to gain access.
Enabling 2FA for Your Brokerage
Steps for Brokerage Managers:
- 1) Log in to TotalBrokerage.
- 2) Go to Setup → Brokerage.
- 4) Find and select the checkmark next to "Require Two-Factor Authentication to sign in. Require all users to set up Two-Factor Authentication upon login."
- 5) Click Save.
What Happens Next?
After enabling this setting, all users will be directed to set up their 2FA upon their next login. They won't be able to use other features of the site until they complete this setup and enter the verification code sent to their mobile device.
For user instructions on setting up 2FA in TotalBrokerage, see this.
Why Should You Enable 2FA?
- Improved Security: Reduces the risk of unauthorized access by requiring a second form of identification.
- Compliance: Meets security standards that may be required by regulatory bodies.
